Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain payroll records
  • Calculate part months & holiday
  • Manage statutory payments
  • Process P45’s
  • Liaise with clients, clarifying calculations as necessary.
  • Managing client pension schemes via a multiple of pension providers i.e. setting up and monthly uploading.

Essential criteria

  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail; right first time.
  • Minimum 5 GCSES A-C grade, including Maths and English.
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Data entry experience
  • Record-keeping skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Confident and capable communicator both with colleagues and clients and across all mediums. Willingness to learn and develop within payroll/accountancy

Desirable criteria

  • A-levels or equivalent qualification
  • Previous office or administrative experience
  • Interest in finance, accounting or payroll
  • Familiarity with payroll software (Payrite) – not essential
  • Experience using – Sage, STAR & Xero
  • Interest in studying towards a payroll or accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT)
