What do our clients say
"I was so pleased with all the work that Katie and the team at Galloways did for me this year regarding tax advice and support. The service they provided was professional, efficient and they always responded very quickly and reassuringly to any queries. Everything was explained clearly and my concerns and worries listened to with empathy. I was very happy with the final outcome and would thoroughly recommend them."" ... Read more

"I have been working with Emma for a few years now after moving from a different accountant. She, and the team, made the switch over so easy and seamless, but also the ongoing support is just fantastic. I am not a numbers person, and Emma is always at hand to answer my questions, which she does quickly and in a way I understand. My books, payroll and tax are always ready and it's so easy for me to read through, sign off and pay the bills. I feel with Emma and the team, my accounts are in safe hands, and that's one less thing for me to have to worry about when running my small business. She's also more than happy to jump on a call or meet when needed, which just adds that personal touch in an often faceless relationship. And she has been on hand and reassuring through the changes to the firm over the last year. I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend Emma." ... Read more

"Emma Marsland has been working with our business accounts and personal taxes for almost 18 years. She is professional, detail-oriented & always proactive in keeping our finances in order. She explains everything clearly & stays ahead of deadlines! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, and knowledgeable accountant."

"I have used Lulu Emms and Galloways as my accountants for both my business and personal affairs for over 10 years. Lulu and her team work tirelessly, ensuring that all VAT returns and accounts are completed accurately and well within deadlines. Over the years, Lulu has always taken the time to clearly explain the paperwork I am signing, helping me to understand my finances rather than just trusting the process. Meetings are always a pleasure, often accompanied by a delicious hot chocolate and Welsh rarebit at Joanna’s Tea Shop!" ... Read more

"We have used the services of Galloways Accountancy for 10 years. Their service is always professional, thorough and helps to relieve the stress of running a small business - which in turn, allows us to focus on our core purpose of supporting young people's Mental Health."
Natalie Greenall - Believe in You Teens Limited
"We are both very happy with Emma and her team at Galloways. They prepare both our company and personal tax returns. Emma is always happy to discuss our accountancy needs either by phone or email. We would have no hesitation in recommending Emma and her team at Galloways."

"The service we received from Katie Mullin on behalf of Galloways was exemplary. We had received very poor advice from earlier quarters and found ourselves facing an extremely worrying situation with HMRC for what could have been a huge Capital Gains tax bill. Right from day one we felt with Katie that at last here was a safe pair of hands who knew what they were doing and would help us through this maze of legalities to sort out the problem we were now facing with HMRC. We instantly felt reassured and our stress levels reduced markedly as Katie was able to clearly and simply explain everything that was going on and our way forward. We cannot recommend Katie Mullin enough. Everything that she predicted came to pass and we honestly believe without her help not only would we have had many many more sleepless nights but potentially would have been facing an enormous tax bill" ... "Steve and myself have been together for over 10 years and in that time Galloways has helped me with some tricky situations. The team mirror his approach and this is why I always introduce my clients in to the “family” and we have always reached a satisfactory outcome indeed only last week we met with a new “family member” and were delighted to say we have a 100% record to date for happy customers who still use both our services. Here’s to another 10 years!!" ... Read more

"I first started working with Ali in my capacity as CEO of the Student Life charity in 2018. The original instruction to act for us was based on a single, one hour telephone conversation where Ali didn’t give the ‘hard sell’, he simply chatted through his background and company services. The professionalism shone through. Over the subsequent years, Ali has continued to display that – often difficult to find – mix of professionalism, human touch and friendliness that is often needed from the professionals that support a growing organisation. Ali has overseen a rapid growth in our income, our rapid diversification and always been on the end of the phone, email or willing to meet face to face when necessary. It would take a seismic shift in service delivery for me ever to feel the need to replace Ali’s accountancy support." ... Read more

"When HMRC started an enquiry into my taxes, I was offered salvation in the form of Katie Mullin. She’s a perfect combination of confidence and patience with a touch of respectful humour and the determination of a Rottweiler. She made the unbearable less so and basically kept my sanity and I will be eternally grateful to her. It just goes to show that it is worth engaging with a firm of reputable accountants that have the breadth of skills to deal with this type of work - you never know when they will be needed." ... "I’ve been looked after by the team here for almost 20 years. In that time, I’ve always found them super friendly, professional, helpful, organised, responsive, supportive, perceptive… Highly recommended.— I’ve found them to be everything I’d hope for from a switched on team of accountants – and more!"

"Galloways has managed my personal and company accounting with total professionalism, diligence, and efficiency for 45 years. The knowledge that the accounts have been prepared and filed in full compliance with tax law, which can be more complex than meets the eye, has great value, while the courtesy, accessibility and reliability with which each of the three Partners who has managed my file over the years has been, and continues to be, immensely appreciated." ... "Ali Towler is one of the most professional individuals I have had the pleasure to work with. Not only is he thorough, he goes above and beyond to trouble shoot and highlight any potential future issues. It’s this incredible level of service that makes him stand out from other advisers."
Francesca Clent Charity Office Manager - Rye Winchelsea & District Memorial Hospital Ltd
"Ali has been my accountant since early 2025. I came to him after a terrible experience with a previous accountant and as a result, I was unsure about trusting someone new. However, Ali has completely restored that trust. He has shown up for me and my business time and time again. From taking the time to meet with me face-to-face and talk things through, to answering my panicked emails and phone calls with kindness and patience, he has consistently gone above and beyond. Not once have I been made to feel “too stupid to understand.” I’ve always felt comfortable asking for things to be explained differently, and he has always taken the time to do so. I have always found Ali to be approachable, friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Ali has also helped the company save money by supporting me with tax in ways I had never been guided on before. His knowledge and proactive approach have made a real financial difference to the business. Being supported in this way, by someone with Ali’s knowledge and reassurance, has lifted such a weight off my shoulders. I only wish I had found him sooner." ... Read more

"Messe Frankfurt UK appointed Galloways to carry out our audit and they have now reported on two years. I have found them to be very professional and thorough but also understanding of client resources and timetable. Galloways have built up a good understanding of our business very quickly and, as a result, ask perceptive and thoughtful questions. Their audit process has been helpful to us and has highlighted a few areas where we have since improved our procedures. I have no hesitation in recommending them." ... Read more
